Murals are often done to enhance the decor of a room. Many times youll see them in an entranceway, particularly if it is very high. A mural in this area helps to bring the eyes up filling the space so the room feels more lived in. Another area you often see a mural is in children's and infants' rooms. Whether given as a gift to the mother-to-be, or a gift for a child, they can be wonderful additions to a room. Since I can even do portable murals, even those of you who may live in apartments can have a mural. You can take it with you when you move! Faux finishing has been around for thousands of years. It was used whenever the original materials were too expensive, unavailable, or its use was no longer feasible. Some famous castles have faux finish marble in them instead of the real thing! Faux finishing has recently become popular again, much in part to TV shows like Trading Spaces, and Debbie Travis' Painted House, and the many other design shows on TV today. There are faux finishes that can go over old paneling without having to tear it down. Many finishes will hide imperfections in the walls, so it is great for older homes, even plaster walls. I have also repaired broken stands, paint chips, broken chins, and feet. I work on both indoor and outdoor statues.
