They can be designed for you or taken from your favorite photograph. So even if you live in an apartment, you can have a mural. You can even take it with you when you move!

With Distinctive Scenes, you will be able to choose from over 80 custom faux finishes. A sample list includes:

Stenciling
Many designs can be done with stencils from simple designs with spaces to elegant designs that look true to life (multilayered). The more detailed the stencil, typically the higher the cost of the stencil and the more work involved to apply the stencil. Stencils can be found that replicate elegant wallpapers and borders, fruits, flowers, animals, bugs, etc. There are thousands of stencils to choose from today.

Custom Stencilling
If you have a special design that needs to be matched, we can custom design a stencil for you. If we can't do it, we can help you find someone who can.

Decorative Painting
Decorative Painting is often used to accent a piece of furniture or accessory, or add a special touch in a room. If adding it to a room, an example may be a leaf and/or flower vine, a special design over a bed, or a fruit swag over a doorway. There are many possibilities. Stencils are not used in decorative painting but may have the look of multilayered stencils.

Trompe L'oeil
Whether you want something simple like making your flat cupboard doors look like panel doors or something more complicated like making a wall look like a 3-dimensional mural, Distinctive Scenes can do it.

Glass Etching & Frosting
These techniques are often used to coordinate other aspects of a room, replace broken or missing pieces of a set, or add a special touch to personal gifts. Samples are on china closet, sliding, shower, and front doors. A sample list of personal gifts may be glass jars, plates, and mugs. Once I stenciled a wall in a dining room and then glass etched the same design on the built in china closet doors.

Accessory Matching
Can't find accessories in the stores to match your décor? I can help! Thanks to my expertise in color matching and color mixing, I can match accessories to your décor. Whether it's something like a canister set for your kitchen or changing a light fixture from bright gold to silver, or from shiny to rust, I can help.

Floor Cloths
A floor cloth is a covering that helps to protect your floors whether they are linoleum or some similar product, wood, laminate, or carpeting. They can be used as decorative accents or to hide areas that are warn. Sometimes they are used to hide floors that are ok, but not loved until a new floor can be purchased. They are used in the same way as an area rug. We can match your floor design, room décor, or do something entirely different. Typically they are done to go with the rooms' décor. They come in many sizes.
